MISSION STATEMENT...C.E.A.S.E."Childhood Epilepsy And Seizure Episodes" is a non-profit 501(c) 3 (STATUS PENDING) organization founded in 2006. Its' primary purpose is to help  train educators,  provide activities and support groups for children and parents affected by this terrible condition, and raise funds for research.  Through the efforts of C.E.A.S.E., it is our fondest hope that  teachers will gain a greater understanding of children stricken with the disorder, that assistance can be provided for children and families as they cope with their struggles associated with epilepsy and that a cure may be found.

IMPLICATIONS..... Most people with epilepsy lead outwardly normal lives. The majority, approximately 80% can be managed with modern therapies. However, the implications of having epilepsy can be significant, especially for children. It is not uncommon for children to develop behavioral and emotional problems. Seizures can often interfere with a child's ability to learn. Absence seizures, characterized by brief periods of fixed starring can result in a child missing vital instruction while at school.

Approximately 65% of children with epilepsy also have some other special need. It has been documented that children with epilepsy have the increased risk of poor self- esteem and depression. Many children living with epilepsy have an ever-present fear that another seizure may occur at any time.
